33. Excavation, southwest angle of Manhattan square formed by West 77 street and ninth avenue

A sepia-toned photoprint of an excavation site at the intersection of West 77 street and Ninth Avenue for the then-intended zoological gardens. This piece depicts a large construction-like zone with makeshift wooden plank pathways, people and horses working in the central area, and a view of various buildings on the horizon line.
