Description
This folder contains correspondence from and directed to three different individuals. Fred C. Bowditch’s single correspondence is a card that stated his intention to end his subscription to Entomological News because none of its articles aligned with his interest in phytophagous insects.
H.M. Bower’s 1916 correspondence centered around negotiations with the American Entomological Society (AES) to obtain a pair of Argynnis diana. Bower stated his willingness to exchange two pairs of Heliolonche, a genus of moths in the Noctuidae family, for Argynnis diana. Bower also received a package of Chionobas semidea alongside the Argynnis diana.
Howard P. Boyd’s correspondence is a 1941 reply from E.T. Cresson, Jr., notifying him of his appointment as an alternate delegate of the AES to represent the society at the Philadelphia Council of Amateur Scientists.
